Technology & Product FAQs
How does OmniLyte’s electrochemical activation (ECA) technology work?
How does OmniLyte’s electrochemical activation (ECA) technology work?
It passes a saltwater solution through an electrolysis cell, splitting it into a disinfectant
(Anolyte) and a cleaning solution (Catholyte).
What is the difference between Anolyte and Catholyte?
What is the difference between Anolyte and Catholyte?
Anolyte: Disinfectant with strong antimicrobial properties
Catholyte: A mild alkaline solution used for cleaning, degreasing, and pH balancing
Both are produced via electrochemical activation (ECA) using an OmniLyte equipment.
How does Anolyte work?
How does Anolyte work?
Electrolyzed Water, also known as anolyte, generates a relatively stable and elevated micro-electrical charge in water. As with all other living organisms, microbes require energy to survive - the anolyte solution destabilizes the immediate energy environment in which microbes can live - thus eliminating them, naturally and without the need for chemical intervention.
What is the active ingredient in Anolyte and how does it compare to traditional disinfectants?
What is the active ingredient in Anolyte and how does it compare to traditional disinfectants?
Anolyte contains hypochlorous acid (HOCl), a highly effective and safe disinfectant that is more powerful than chlorine yet non-toxic to humans and animals.
What are the active agents in the liquids?
What are the active agents in the liquids?
Anolytes consist of 99.6% water, 0.26% salt and 0.05% hypochlorous acid & hypochlorite ion. The OmniLyte Units contain one (or more) special electrolytic cells that charge the water with an
electrical charge. The concentrate of liquid holds around 800 - 1,200 mV of charge (ORP), depending on whether it is made as an acidic or a neutral anolyte.
Are chemicals used to produce Anolyte or electrolyzed water?
Are chemicals used to produce Anolyte or electrolyzed water?
No, there are no chemicals used. Anolyte is produced using water, a 0.5 to 1% solution of salt (NaCl or KCl), and electricity.
Are any chemicals left in the water after treatment?
Are any chemicals left in the water after treatment?
OmniLyte's ECA Anolyte water treatment process leaves no harmful chemicals in the water. The system generates a powerful disinfectant from salt and water, which reverts back to its natural state after disinfection, ensuring safe and chemical-free water.
What does anolyte/hypochlorous acid smell like?
What does anolyte/hypochlorous acid smell like?
Anolyte or hypochlorous acid has a refreshing, clean smell, and it eliminates any unwanted odors, leaving your treated area smelling fresh.
How long does Anolyte remain effective after production?
How long does Anolyte remain effective after production?
The effectiveness of Anolyte depends on storage conditions. Typically, it remains potent for 30–90 days when stored properly in a sealed container away from sunlight and heat.
How much solution capacity can the ECA Generators produce?
How much solution capacity can the ECA Generators produce?
The generator output capacity ranges from 20-12,000 Liters/Hour, depending on the type and model. The solutions are then diluted to various ratios, depending on the application.
What is unique about OmniLyte's electrolyte cell compared to other similar products?
What is unique about OmniLyte's electrolyte cell compared to other similar products?
The titanium electrodes in the cells are coated with a special alloy that enables the cells to endure extremely high voltage throughput. Other electrolytic cells on the market will only manage a voltage
of around 8 volts, and their lifetime is around 6-8 months. In the OmniLyte cells the voltage is 4 fold.
