How ECA technology works

Electrochemical Activation (ECA) transforms a low-concentration saltwater solution into two powerful, eco-friendly compounds: Anolyte (HOCl) and Catholyte (NaOH). By applying an electrical charge in a patented diaphragm cell, the solution is split into oxidative and reductive streams without harmful residues. These anolyte solutions are proven to be effective disinfectants, mimicking the natural defense mechanism of the human immune system.

Features of ECA technology

  • Hand reaching for a hotel room door handle with an inset showing a microscope image of germs.

    Pathogen-Resistant Power

Anolyte remains effective against viruses, bacteria, fungi, and biofilms—even with repeated use, as pathogens don’t develop resistance.

  • Nurse comforting elderly woman in wheelchair in a hospital hallway.

    Chemical-Free Safety

HOCl is non-toxic, non-irritating, and biodegradable—safe for people, surfaces, and the environment.

  • Three large cylindrical tanks connected by pipes in a clean, industrial setting.

    Long-Lasting Meta-Stability

Properly stored, activated solutions retain their biocidal properties for up to 6–12 months, reducing waste and reordering needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of salt should I use with the GH-40?

Use food-grade sodium chloride (NaCl) to prepare the brine solution. The GH-40 is calibrated for ~4.5 g/L brine concentration.

Can I control the output strength of the HOCl solution?

Yes. The GH-40 allows you to program the desired FAC levels between 100–500 ppm and set your target pH range.

Does the GH-40 need to be connected to a building’s water system?

No—this unit draws brine from a storage container and does not require a pressurized water line, making it highly flexible in placement.
