How ECA technology works

Electrochemical Activation (ECA) is a clean technology that applies an electric current to a saline solution to split it into two functional outputs: catholyte (a strong alkaline cleaner) and a minor amount of anolyte (a mild disinfectant). In the CG Series, this process is optimized for high-output, high-pH catholyte production.

Features of ECA technology

  • Bubbles rising in water, creating a dynamic underwater scene.

    Dual Output Efficiency

Though focused on catholyte production, the system also produces a small amount of anolyte, which can be utilized or safely disposed of as needed.

  • Girl in a swimming pool wearing pink goggles and orange floaties, smiling brightly.

    Strong Cleaning, Gentle Impact

Despite its strength, CG catholyte solutions are free from additives and safe for use around people and plants when used as directed.

  • Three large cylindrical tanks connected by pipes in a clean, industrial setting.

    Non-Hazardous Handling

Catholyte is produced without the risks tied to chemical storage or delivery, making operations safer and simpler.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I adjust the NaOH concentration in the catholyte?

Yes. The CG Series allows you to tailor the concentration based on your cleaning or treatment requirements—from 1 g/L up to 16 g/L.

Is any hazardous by-product created?

A very small amount (~0.4% of total flow) of acidic anolyte is generated as a by-product. It is safe when handled correctly, and disposal guidelines are provided with each unit.

What are the installation requirements?

Installation is similar to OmniLyte’s EL or ELA generators—requiring standard power and brine input, with no special infrastructure needs.
